SPIRITUALIST MEETING

FAREWELL TO MR. JOHN PAGE.

Members of the Wellington Association of Spiritualists gathered in the New Century Hall, Kent-terrace, ;last evening, to bid farewell to their speaker and medium, Mr. John Page, who has been in the Dominion about nine years. With tho exception of one or two intervals, Mr. Page's connection with the Wellington Association covers a term of something like four yeare.

Mr. Stewart presided. In an oponing address he alluded to the fact that when Mr. Page had first arrived the .church was not in a very flourishing condition. Mr. Page had been largely responsible for the good position in which they now found themselves. He had very capably filled his position as medium, and there was no doubt that his work had been for good. In the future mediums would be sent out from England as the vacancies occurred. Mr. Stewart proceeded, to read a letter to Mr. Pago from the committee of tho church, which eulogised the work of Mr. Page in the past, and wished him tho best of fortune in his future capacity. , Another speaker, Mr.; Turner, expressed his pleasure at once more finding himself among his spiritualistic frineds, as ho had just returned from the Old Country. He referred to the good influence exercised by Mr. Page upon the community, as was evidenced by the consistently good audiences he had obtained. He mentioned the fact that while in England he (tho speaker), had taken particular notice of how. the children's lyceums had been conducted, and he could 6afely say that the Wellington children's lyceuin. runby Miss V. Johnston, was as up-to-date in every way as those ho had seen at Home. Ho wished Mrs. and Mr. Page "bon voyage," and tho best of luck.

Llies V.' Johnston presented Mr. Page with a letter of appreciation from the children's lyceum expressive of the keen interest evinced by him in the lyceum at all times.

Mrs. C. Morris (vice-president) presented a leather wallet with cheque enclosed to Mr. Page as a mark of appreciation from tho congregation. Mr. Fabling, of Christchurch, added a word of praise to Mr. Page's work. In reply, Mr. Page thanked the speakers for the kindly things they had said about him. Ho hoped that tho cause of spiritualism would steadily proceed in New Zealand, aud trusted that all would work together toward.? that end.

A musical item was given by Mrs. M'Millan, and recitations were contributed by Misses V. Johnston, B. Sly, IJacaulay, and M. Atkinson. Dancing was indulged in later on in the evening.
