Crowded houses filled the Empress | Theatre at the two sessions yesterday, when Charlie Chaplin and Edna Furviance caused much merriment hy their burlesque on "Carmen." A big attraction, too, was the 0. . Henry drama "Vanity and Sables," in which Wallace Macdonald and Mildred Manning ena.ted the.story of a crook's reformation and the suspicion following on the theft of _ set of furs. There are other supporting films, and Mr. C. Melvin also sings nightly.
