BRITISH LOAN
TO COVER YEAR'S DEFICIT.
(Received June 3, 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, 2nd June. A Government loan for £250,00p,C00 has been authorised by resolution of Parliament to cover the deficit for the year and for the creation of a sinking fund. The terms will not be disclosed until j the prospectus is issued after Whitsuntide. Mr. Chamberlain said that as the result of the ready response to previous loans we stood in a position unrivalled among the belligerents who entered the war at the commencement.
