(BT TELEGRAPH.—TRESS ASSOCIATION.) CHRISTCHURCH, 2nd June. The Hon. G. W. Russell received news to-day that during the week ending 24th May 125 persons died from influenza in Victoria, and 49 in New. South Wales. The returns from Queensland and South Australia are not available. The epidemic in the metropolitan area of Brisbane, judging by the number of cases notified there, is very heavy, and a number of deaths have been recorded. (UNITED MESS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT.) ■ .
