EMPRESS THEATRE.

Comedy is the predominating feature this week at the Empress Theatre, where Charlie Chaplin is seen in an amusing burlesque in the grand opera "Carmen..'' Grand opera lends itself strongly to burlesque, and Charlie- and his pretty leading lady, Edra Purveance, have made the most of it. Another attraction is one of 0. Henry's stories delightfully told. It is entitled "Vanity," and features Wallace Macdonald and Mildred Manning. An added attraction nightly, is tho singing of Mr. C. Melvin, who has become a firm favourite.
