The short Lento and gracious Andantino in E Flat, by Cesar Franck, which woro introduced at tho last recital, wore repeated by request, .with equally marked success. Tho delightfid Andante (from - a string- quartette) by Debussy, and a Grant dv Matin. (Bluotte) by!GUilmant, wero most tastefully played, and wero followed by a splendid rendering of Bach's Toccata and FuguoMn C Major, tho possibilities of the magnificent trum-pet-call which forms tho subject ' of tho ■fugue being fully brought out. Tho second section of tho recital consisted of two Witgnfcr numbers, the first being that unsurpassable melody, • Walther's - "Prize. •Sprig", from "Die Mcistersingcr," and the second the Prelude to Act I. of "Tristan and Isolde,"' both played in a manner that fully realised, the high expectations always raised when Mr. Page is announced .to interpret any of Wagner's masterpieces.
