EARTHQUAKE AND TIDAL WAVE
AT FRIENDLY ISLANDS,
(BT TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) / AUCKLAND, This Day. An. earthquake which occurred at tho Friendly Islands on 30th April was. followed by a tidal wave estimated to be eight feet high, which did considerable damage on Haapai. Vavau and Nukualofa escaped, damage. Tho extent of the damage on Haapai is jiot known, the only information having been received by natives in the other groups. It it understood no lives wer.e lost.
