(CV TELESJI.4MJ.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, 31st May. On the first day of the Auckland Racing Club there was a large attendance. The totalisator handled £60,238, against £59,453 on the corresponding day last year. Also started :' 6 Mullingar 9.2, 10 Sir Ralph 9.1, 5 Hyllus 8.12, 4 All Talk 8.12, 11 Paddington Green 8.9, 8 White Blaze 8.7, 7 Housewife 8.2, 9 Lady Energy 8.0. White Blaze made the early running from Lady Energy, Mullingar, and 'Bedford. At the entrance to the straight Bedford and Mangamahoe became prominent, Alteration coining fast. At tho distance the lastnamed challenged, and, going on, won comfortably by three-quarters of a, length, with 'Bedford half a length away. Time, 2rain 16sec. Hunt Club Hurdles, of 250 soys; two miles. —1 Benzine, 10.12 (Wanicvj, ? .- -5 Swastika, 10.2, '2; 3 Peneton. 41.5, 3.' Also started : 8 Dunrobin 12.3, 7 Jacaranda 10.12, 9 Aroha 9.2, 2 Hikurangi 10.2, 10 Master Bijou 10.2, 1 Grov Star 10.2, 6 Johnny Paul 10.0, -1 Oakleigh 10.0, 12 La Blanche 10.0 Benzine led all the way, winning easily by fo'ir lengths. mond 11.0, l.Taiamai 9.11, '2 All Over 9.10, 2 Hurry Up 8.12, 10 Gaycium 8.5,11 Arran 8.2, 7 Fabriquette 8.0, 9 Post Haste 8.0, 3 Kilbcggan 8.0. Mill o' Cowrie led all the way, winning by a length and a-half from Escaped, who finished nicely, beating Ohinowairaa by a neck. Time, lmin 18sec.
