BANK NOTES

I lO.IHJ EDITOn. Sir, —What a glorious mixture in the sizes and colouring, irrespective of their values, of the bank notes at present circulating in the Dominion. Note the form of the new one pound note issued by the Commercial Bank of Australia for circulation in New Zealand. Compare this bank note with the latest ten shilling note issued by the Bank of New Zealand and observe the dangerous similarity, especially if the notes are at all worn or soiled. It may be a glad day for cashiers and the public generally when legislation will be passed, prescribing for some form of standardisation in the matter of the sizes and. colouring of notes as an additional guide in indicating their respective values.—l am, etc., CASHIER. 29th May. .
