TRAMWAYS MILITARY BAND.

The Wellington Municipal Tramways Military Band needs no introduction to Wellington audiences, having gained an enviable reputation by reason of the recitals of consistently ■uniform excellence given during its many seasons. For its fortnightly concert, to be given in His Majesty's Theatre to-morrow evening, a. rare programme of instrumental and vocal items'has been prepared. Assisting artists include Miss Adelaide Bruce, of Melbourne, whose cultured contralto voice has won the admiration of critics in many parts. Miss Bruce has sung in, Wellington before, a.nd she has just returned from Australia with new additions to her repertoire. Her voice is particularly mellow, rich, and oven, and thesa qualities, combined with a striking personality, graceful deportment, and the power of. proper appreciation of the lines she sings, have fashioned a singer who is at once a favourite. Miss Laura Wright, also a popular singer, will appear, and should meet, with the reception ' her'talent deserves. The band's items include a selection from "Carmen." the overture "Stradella," "Irish Patrol" (depicting the approach and' passing of an Irish regiment), "Kismet" (an Oriental conception), and "The Belle of New York" march. ■ Thus a bright and enjoyable programme is compiled, and one which, should appeal, to the arHstic sense of music-lovers. .The recital.is timed to commence at 8.15 p.m.
