WATERSIDE WORKERS' BAND
The announcement that, the Waterside Workers' Band will give another recital in. the 'Grand Opeva. House to-morrow night will no doubt be welcomed by: music lovers. The Sunday recitals have been a great pleasure to a. large number of people. Supporting professional artists include some of the most talented in New Zealand, including Signor AY P. Truda (flautist), who is to play a magnificent solo, ." Aur Alpes" ; Signor Lucien Cesaroni, the operatic basso, who will feature the choicest numbers from his extensive repertoire, including "Till Death" and an Oriental number "Allah"; and Madame Johnston-Topliss, a dramatic soprano,,who has sun? at most of the leading concerts in the Dominion. She will sing two popular items, "II Bacio" and "My Hero" (from "The Chocolate Soldier"). It would he difficult to imagine a better accompanist than Mr. Frank Crowther. Bandsmen M'Robie and Jackson will play the ever popular duet, "Excelsior."' The,band numbers have been carefully s*electeth-" T?rids> of place must be given to Herman Ifinck's "Melodious Memories," a selection of fascinating airs wnich have haunted the memories- of music lovers during the past fifty years. Patrons are invited to count how many of these tunes they know. The highest, or any number, will bo rewarded by the effort. The popular overture, " Caliph of Bagdad," and the brilliant contest march, "Palmer House," complete the programme. A record house is expected, and patrons are advised to be in their seats early. • ■ . . •
