DEPUTATION TO N.S.W. PREMIER CONFLICTING REPORTS ENQUIRIES TO BE MADE. By Telegraph,— Press AssOctation.-Copyrlght. (Received February 14, 10.25 a,m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Two- hundred unemployed formed a deputation to Mr. M'Gowcn, the State Premier, alleging that four thousand persons were without work in Sydney. Mr. M'Gowen is obtaining a report on the subject. •> One deputationist to the Labour Council declared that there were six thousand unemployed, but another only vouched for three 1 hundred. A member of the council subsequently caused laughter by remarking that the leader of the deputation had been associated with the unemployed movement for many years. THREE THOUSAND OUT OF WORK. (Received February 14, 10.37 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. A meeting of 600 unemployed condemned the Victorian Government for encouraging immigration. It is alleged that there are nearly three thousand toorkless. » The Labour Council is holding a public meeting to protest against immigration, and askigg Mr. Fieher (federal Prime Minister) to inform Sir George Reid (High Commissioner in London) of conditions here, and ask him to publish the information in Ehgland.
