SYDNEY, 12th February. Flags were flying at half-mast in the city to-day, in mourning for Captain Scott and his companions. RELIEF FUNDS (Received February 13, 11 a.m.) LONDON, 12th February. The Lord Mayor of Liverpool has opened a fund for the dependents of those of the Scott expedition who periehed. SYDNEY, 12th February. In response to Captain Scott'e appeal, the Lord Mayor hafe opened a fund, and the newspapers have also opened subscription lis£«. Other cities are acting similarly. Before any publicity had been given to the movement the Lord Mayor had received in spontaneous gifts nearly £600 towards the fund, including £105 from Mr. Anthony Hordern and £100 each from Mrs. Walter Hall and the Sydney Morning Herald. , • DANNEVIRKE LISTS DAtfNEVIRKE, This Day. The Evening News has opened a fund ' for the benefit of relatives of the Antarctic heroes. Subscription lists on the show grounds met with a ready response, Mr. James Armstrong heading it with £20. The News suggests that the funds collected in various parts be amalgamated and regarded as a national memorial to the sacredness of home ties.
