ST. HELENS HOSPITAL ENQUIRY
-AUCKLAND, 11th February. The St. .Helens H,ome enquiry was resumed • to-day, when - the ' Commissioner was occupied all the morning in hearing legal argument oh a. point that was first raised yesterday .afternoon, viz.—whether the complainants , in the enquiry, should be permitted to inspect certain of the books, kept in connection with the administration of the • hospital. The Commissioner decided to state a caso for the Supreme Court, as to. whether or not there was power to throw the books Open for inspection at the enquiry, and, if so, whether it was with discretionary power.
