CHARGE AGAINST, MR. WILMAMS WITHDRAWN. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. SYDNEY, llth February. , When the charge against James Dixon Williams, manager of the Greater J, D. Williams Amusement Company, of abetting ,tha forgery of a share order W£a called to-day, ' Counsel. for the pr execution announced that he arid the counsel for the defence had gone thoroughly into the case on account of the public' matters involved, and agreed that Williams, in taking the step he did, had acted bona fide and in the interests of the shareholder^, and he thought the explanation put before hun by counsel convinced him that the proper course to pursue in thd interests of the shareholders -was not to proceed further with the clAige. ' ' Counsel for the defence stated that Williams ,asgented to this course, Tealising it was in the interests of the company and the shareholders. He Was also of opinion that the quarrel should cease between the parties as the, explanation given was satisfactory, and' williams should be honourably discharged. The charge was thereupon withdrawn, and Williams was discharged.
