The French Gov eminent maintains its demand. INHABITANTS OF GALLIPOLI. THROWN INTcTa STATE OF PANIC. WOMEN AND CHILDREN DROWNED. SOFIA, 11th February. The inhabitants of Gallipoli' were thrown into a state of panic after' the Turkish defeat at Bulair. Many women and children wtre drowned in trying to embark oil steamers which Were crowded with refugees. The ground at Bulair is strewn with corpses, the bodies including twenty Turkish officers. The Bulgarians lostfive officers and 412 wounded. The number of the killed is unknown. MOVEMENTS OF CRUISERS, CAIRO, 11th tertiary. The Turkish cruiser Hamidieh, which fled to the Red Sea after the naval engagement in December, and has now returned, has left Port Said bound eastwards. A Greek cruiser is reported to have been sighted outside Egyptian territorial lvat-cw. PANIC-STRICKEN TURKS. HEAVY*" LOSS. BULGARIAN CASUALTIES LIGHT. (Received February 12, 12.10 p.m.) SOFIA, 11th February. When the Turks landed at Charkeui. the Bulgarians, quickly hemming them hi, drove them panic-stricken to their vessels. The Bulgarian infantry and artillery, maintaining a deadly fire, killed and wounded ( thousands. Their own casualties did not exceed one hundred. The Bulgarians were exposed to the warshipo' f5«, and retreated to fresh positions, six kilometres in tho rear, entrenching before Bulair.
