"If further resistance is useless," added Chukri, "I will take care to put the forty thousand Bulgarians living here out of the way. I will confide the women and children to the foreign consuls, and turn the guns on all Bulgarians, and then convert Adrianople irito a gigantic rubbish heap." SHARP E.£OAGEME,NT. BULGARIANS DRIVE THE TURKS BACK. SOFIA, 10th February. . A shfjrp engagement has been fought at Bulair, near the Dandanellee. The Bulgarians drove the Turks back to the forw. The Turks attempted to descend to Chatkeui, near the neck of the Gallipoli Peninsula, whfere the Bulgarians frustrated the landing of twenty shiploads of Turkish troops. The Turks lost fifty killed in attempting to land at Podima, on the Black Sea coast, northeast of Istrandja. The inhabitants of Adrianople are fleeing from one quarter to another, seeking shelter, from the shells. BULGARIA DECEIT. TURKISH COMItfANDERS FOOLED. CONSTANTINOPLE, 10th Feb. A Turkish aeroplane reconnoitred the Bulgarian position at Chataldeja, and tfound that the Bulgarians had deceived the Turks by means of day dummies wearing military- caps, and had retired to Chorltu This has strengthened the belief that the Allies ,&re concentrating ag&i&sk the, Dardanelles.
