The fruit market at the t resent time is well stocked with both island and local fruits. .Bananas, always a popular fruit, are very reasonable in price, and supplies are coming forward 'well. Last week a good shipment arrived from Raratonga, while a ■ further shipment is due from Fiji this week. Oranges are also corning along well and experienced a good demand during last week in the streets. Local fiuits arc"' selling, freely ; tomatoes in particular are in good demand, fine fruits being . obtainable for 3d or 4d per lb. Applet and pears are meeting' With very fair demand and good fruit is selling at very reasonable prices.
