MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Mr. \V. G. Riddell, S.M., presided at a sitting of the Magistrate's Court to-day. Three first offenders for drunkenness were convicted, .two being fined 10s, and the other having his bail forfeited. A firemah named William Mack pleaded guilty to deserting' from the 6.8. lufaklna, and was sentenced to one month s imprisonment. George Richard Farley pleaded, not guilty to a charge of indecenf assault ou a girl six and a-half years of Age, at Wellington, on 6th February. On the application, of Sub-Inspector Sheehan, a remand until Wednesday next was < granted. Richard Hastedt was ordered to pay /s per week towards the support of a child. Oh a charge of disobeying a maintenance drder, Thomas Asher was ordered to pay £1 U solicitor's dosts. For the maintenance of an illegitimate child, Alexander Johnson had an order made against him for the payment of 7g per week, with £7 7s confinement expenses, and solicitor's fe& £1 Is.
