HEMP FOR EXPORT

The total number of bales of hemp graded for export in January was 12.716 as compared with 7643 for the corresponding month of last year, an increase of 5073 bales. For 'the twelve months ending 31sfc January, 1913, the number of bales graded was 105,541 as compared with 85,217 for the previous twelve months, the "increase being 20,324' bales. During the month 4844 bales of tow were also dealt with as compared with 2335 for the corresponding month of last year, an increase of 2509 bales. For tho twelve months ending 3lst January, 1913, the number of bales graded was 34,199 as compared with 23,974 for the previous twelve- months, the increase being 10,225 bales.
