, F IREMAN UNSUCCESSFUL, ' The Railway Appeal Board for tlie North' Island of New Zealand met this morning, Dr." A. M'Arthur in the chair. There were also present the following members :— Messrs. C. P. Ryan and C. G. Lee. In connection with the appeal of Fire^ man Hurndell against his dismissal, tho board resolved as follows :— "We have tho honour ' to report that the Railway Appeal Board of the North Island has considered the appeal of Fireman (act-ing-Enginedriver) H. T. Hurndell, of Palmerston North. The board considered the opening of Mr. Davidson, on behalf of the Department, and the admissions ot Mr.; Livingston on" behalf of the appellant— the appellant being presented, without calling evidence, unanimously dismissed the appeal.!'
