[PRESS ASSOCIATION.] NAVY LEAGUE MEETING OF OTAGO BRANCH. DUNEDIN, 7th February.

At a meeting of the Otago branch of the Navy League to-day a motion was passed expressing gratification that the unsatisfactory state of affairs relative to correspondence with the London office that existed for some time past was not due to neglect on the s part of the Home office. The executive trusts that the stej3 taken to prevent the recurrence of the malicious destruction of the inward and outward correspondence of the Home office will prove effective, and that the satisfactory relations formerly existing between the two offices will be completely re-established. Reference was made to the coming visit of H.M.S. New Zealand. Members expressed the general belief that the vessel would not visit this port, but there was a unanimous feeling that the opportunity of seeing her should be availed of by at least some representatives of the school branches of the league. The executive proposes, if practicable, to send a contingent of boys and girls from the primary and secondary schools to visit the battleship at the mo3t convenient port.
