Messrs.- James' Macintosh and' Company (Mr. O'Connor) report that^ the wool offered was ■ generally in lighter condition than is ueual at this time of year, 'but a'laYge number 'of lots opened up, very seedy. "Our catalogue consisted of ia good selection of- medium and coarse y#ol, for which very satisfactory prices were obtained. Our catalogue contained i some , nice, ' bright, attractive lots, and, ■ taken, on the 'whole, the' condition of the j wool, was rather above the usual average ; of February* offerings. Competition was very keen and animated, and prices, generally. speaking, .were fully above January '• rates! very, few ' lots of halfbred, wool "were shown. There was a good' offering of lambs' wool, but a large proportion / carried^- seed 'in a more » or less ' degree. The range of prices obtainedHn our catalogue is given below :
. Crossbred to fine, superior, Hid '■ to llfd; lambs, superior, Hid to 12id. LEVIN AND CO. "m" m Messrs. Levin and Co., Ltd. (Mr. A. JE, Mabin), report offering a catalogue of 2400 bales. For this period of the •year the quality of the wool was good, and several nice clips were offering, but none of the light conditioned fine Romney type. There _ was ' present, however", a large proportion of dingy, coarse, and seed.v wool, • and most" of the wool was, heavier in condition than at the earlier sales. This must be taken into consideration in comparing prices. • • Competition was Keener than at any sale this season, and prices for coarse and medium wools were- gd up on January rates. Rough, dingy lines sold well up to the 'January rates. Lambs sold to 12id. We sold the Clifton Grove clip from Wairarapa, 24 bales at lljjd and 19 bales' at lid,; Te Rangittimau, 8 bales H|d and 12 baled lid ; and Horoa (Wanganui), 14. biles ll|d and 5 bales Hid. "We had very few lines of super "crossbred, and offered a few parcels of light, well-grown lambs' wool. As is usual at this time of the year, the offerings consisted - mainly .of back dountry wool/ ,and utuwai was very noticeable 'in many parcels. Several lines in store* too late to offer in this sale, and these are held over for the next sale on 4th March. The range ofivalues was as follows, compared with prices ruling at the January sale :—

THE LOAN COMPANY. The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Cow^any report that the
wools shown were chiefly 36-40's quality, carrying a fair.axn'quht of ,■ seed, but extremely light' iu condition -for this, time of the year, and those descriptions suitable for Bradford met with a great reception, and sold at to Jd per lb over our most sanguine expectations. Finer qualities, 46's and upwards, were in fair demand and sold at about last sale's values. _ With respect to lambs' wool) the Continental buyers were much in evidence, and practically cleared ,the superior lots at from lid to 12d. Seedy and medium lambs sold a# from-T^d to 10£ d.
