: The singles competition for players of.< sixty-five years and over reached another Jstage , yesterday afternoon, when Price ,(Newtown) beat G. Evans (Wellington),, 22-11, and Loclde (Wellington) beat jMeyrick (Newtown), 25-12. The semi- r final between Lockie and Price was well worth seeing. Both men were playing ,an excellent game, and on the seventeenth head the scores were even. After ithat, however., Lockie had the better of ,the play and won 19-14. The final will. ,be played off on Monday afternoon between Loclde and Freeman, . both of ■whom are nearly 79 years of age. , The various clubs r are now engaged in a champion^ of champions rink competition. ! The Wellington Club's contestants fought .out the " final ' selection game on Thursday, with the result that Ledger, Miller, Kelly, Dall (skip) beat Grenfell, Focke, Thompson, Webb (skip), and. will represent their club in tho final.
