MINING NEWS TALISMAN MINE.
(B* TELEGRAfrH— PBESB ASSOCIATION.) KARANGAHAKE, 7th February. ' During the broken period of January the Talisman crushed and treated 3300 tons of ore that yielded bullion valued at £18,741 14s Id. The costs are higher on account of the smaller tonnage milled, owing to the Christmas holidays and necessary overhaul repairs. The .costs totalled 49s 4d, made up as follow : — Mine development 13s 4d, mining 18s Bd, milling 14s lid, general ' expenses 2s sd. The following cablegram has been sent to Londoh : —No. 14 level, north drive, progress 37 feet, no reef. We are cross-cutting east and west. Progress east, 23 feet, progress west, 18 feet. No. 14 level, south drive, progross 20 feet, reef 54 inches wide, assays low. Sunk Talisman shaft 8 feet ; now cutting pump chamber. The board of directois cable, that an interim dividend of Is 9d and bonus of 9d are payable on 27th February. Transfer books close 14th February.
