The town was decorated, and great crowds waited for four hours, when a telephonic enquiry revealed that thfc message was a hoax. It has since been found that a jbah named Keller, formerly in the Pfcy> master's Department, who was .recently coun-martialled And dismissed thfe her* vice as not being responsible for hie actions, in order to demonstrate that he was in full possession of his faculties, disguised himself as a Postal official, and delivered the telegram. fie has been arrested on a charge ot leae majeete.
