ROYAL COMMISSION'S REPORT. FIRE NOT DUETTO INCENDIAR ISM. ly Telegraph.— Prets Association.— Copyright. HOBART, 6th February. The report of the Royal Commission on the North Mount Lyell mining disaster of 12th October last, in which over forty lives were lost, has been published. It states that there is no foundation for -the suggestion that the fire was due to incendiamm. Only one witness testified as to seeing candles under billies for warming tea, and the Commissioners consider it is unsafe to rely on this uncorroborated evidence. There was ho evidence as to any other source from which the fire might have arisen through carelessness. , The Commissioners consider that the attempt to prove that the fire was due to a defect in the electrical installation failed.
