Beferring to the alleged springing of a leak by the third-class cruiser Psyche, the Admiral commanding the station explains th&t a slight defect in the Psyche was rectified by the ship's staff. The reason the Psyche and the Cambrian are proceeding to Sydney is in order to hay« sdflkuent ships there to form a courtrdartial which it is necessary to hold. The Psyche is sailing on the 12th inst. [A previously published message stated:—"The Psyche, which was recently docked and overhauled, has been recalled from Hobart. It is stated that she sprang a leak and needs docking. The Cambrian is convoying her."] N.S.W. MUTTON FOB GERMANY. .SYDNEY, 6th February. Germany has ordered 20,000 carcases of mutton from New South Wales. < CO-OPEBATIVE CEMENT WOKKS. i SYDNEY, 6th February. The unionists at the Portland cement works are considering a project for the establishment of a co-operative cement works. The proposal is to raise a capital of £200,000 by a levy of threepence a week on unionists in New South Wales and other States. DOMINIONS COMMISSION. SYDNEY, 6th February. The Dominions Commission will commence its New South Wnles investigations on 11th April, and will spend a> fortnight in the State. Seven Commissioners are coming, but the names have not been divulged. * BIPLANES FOB CHINA. PARIS, 6th February. A dog's brain has been inserted to re. place a portion removed from the brain of Mr. W. Smith, of Kalamazoo, who waß dying from an abscess. He is now expected to recover. SYDNEY'S FISH MARKET. SYDNEY, 6th February, Mr. Grane, Supervising Inspector of Fisheries, in a report, condemns the municipal fish market system as inefficient and wasteful. New South Wales has three members in the Commonwealth rifle team for the Bisley meeting, as follow : —Arthur Cutler (Bathurst), Lieut BlackloW (29th Infantry), and F. G. Harrison (Bahdwick).
