Potatoes, £4 10s to £5. Onions, globeß, £4 to £4 ss. SILVER. (Received February 7, 10 a.m.) LONDON, 7th February. Bar silver is quoted at 28|d per ounce standard. SHEEPSKINS. At the sheejiskins sale, 5031 skins wero offered, including 1554 from , Australasia, and from Pjintas Arenas 60 oddments. All catalogued wore practically cleared. There vvas a good attendance of all sections' of the trade, and there wag ani* mated competition. 'Oil descriptions showed a general advance of fd to id as compared with December prices^ The advance was most noticeable in merinos. The bank of New Zealand has received the following cable advice from its London office, dated 6th inst:— "The market is strong for all kinds of sheepskins. Prices are par to 5 per cent, higher, i The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company has received the following cablegram from its London house Under date sth inst. : — "Wheat — We have sold an Australian cargo at 37s 9d, c.i.f. The market is steady, and there is a fair demand owing to favourablecrop reports. Market prospecte, Argentina — Outlook uncertain. We quote per quarter, c.i.f., Now Zealand wheat—'Longberried, 365, short-berried, 35s 6d.
