At the sheejiskins sale, 5031 skins wero offered, including 1554 from , Australasia, and from Pjintas Arenas 60 oddments. All catalogued wore practically cleared. There vvas a good attendance of all sections' of the trade, and there wag ani* mated competition. 'Oil descriptions showed a general advance of fd to id as compared with December prices^ The advance was most noticeable in merinos. The bank of New Zealand has received the following cable advice from its London office, dated 6th inst:— "The market is strong for all kinds of sheepskins. Prices are par to 5 per cent, higher, i The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company has received the following cablegram from its London house Under date sth inst. : — "Wheat — We have sold an Australian cargo at 37s 9d, c.i.f.
