DEFENDED CASES

In the Magistrate's Court yesterday, before Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., Charles A. Paratfl sued Geo. Charlton, ' claiming £16 ss, Judgment was given for plaintiff for amount claimed, with i £5 Is 6d costs. i _ Michael M'Grath, blacksmith, Wei-* lington, sued Mrs. S. J. Bird, Wellingtoii, for horseshoeing and repairs. Defendant disputed the claim, on the ground that the work was dontf not for her, but for her son, C. Bird. Mr. V. B. Willis appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr. R. Kennedy for the defendant. Plaintiff was nonsuited. Before Dr. M'Al'thur, A. Hatrick and Co./ Ltd., sued A. G. Crowe, cycle dealer, Woodville,, for £4 19s 6d, the price of a Mjchlin motor car cover supplied by plaintiff to defendant. Mr. E. J. Fitzgibbon appeared for plaintiff, and Mr. Leyvey for defendant. For tho defence it was contended that the cover was included in the price paid for the car, which was purchased by J. W. Reade and sold by, him to the defendant. Judgment was given for defendant, with £1 8s costs. J. B. MacEwan and Co., sued J. A. B. Hudson, of Levin, commission agent, for £5 3s, alleged to be overpaid by the plaintiffs to the defendant, in re* ! spect of rommiflKion on the sale of a j milking plant. Mr: D. M.
