""»» (By Sir Bedivero.) After the decision of tho Eltham Hurdles at Hawera yesterday, F. Kelly was called before the stewards, who suspended him for twelve months, for having failed to ride his mount Bercola out when having a reasonable winning chance. Mr. M'Mahon, stipendiary steward, cautioned W. Young, the rider of North East in the Normanby Welter, for looking round after his mount had entorod the straight. Owners and trainers are finally reminded that nominations 'for the Nelson Jockey Club's Annual Meeting are due this evening. Nominations for the Dannevirke Racing Club's Autumn Meeting are due tomorrow, Mira finished third 'to Labour Day and Undecided in tho Egtnont Cup, and with these two out of the way, backers made him favourite for the Atkinson Memoriil Stakes, in which ho was piloted by A. Oliver. Tetikura finished Becond to Phroso in the Waipapa. Hack Flat on Wednesday, after having anything but a good run, and it was not surprising that he should be made favourite yesterday. Ngatiruanui is doing well for a beginher over hurdles, but there is not very much of him, and weight will quickly find him out. My -Lady, who won the Telephone Handicap at Makaraka yesterday, is an own sister to Iney, and seems ' inclined to emulate her, elder relative's example in being unruiy at the post. Undecided has not been at all harshly dealt with in being asked to carry an additional 61b at New Plymouth, or the same weight as he scored under in the Feilding Cup last season. He won very I easily indeed at Hawera. i The following is the full account of the race for the Viceroy's Cup, which, it will be remembered, resulted in a dead heat for both first and third places : With very little delay they were let go to a beautifully level start, andVavasor on the rails was the first to show out. As they passed the post the first time round Vavasor was leading, the others in line, and then, before the Kiddefpore Corner was reached, Five Crown Went out to make the running, and he wag leading at the mile and ahalf from Hilarity and Sea Lad, At the mile Five Crown was several lengths in front, but dropped out at the six fur* long. Sea Lad and Hilarity carried on, Until at the five furlongs Cpiton came up, and for the next furlong he wa« leading from Sea Lad and Vavasor, Mayfowl, _Black Buck, and Hilarity being next in order. At the four furlonga Vavasor ran right into Sea- Lad, and, stumbling, threw his rider heavily. Sea Lad was thrown out of .his stride, and was never prominent again. A.B they came into the straight - Mayfowl and j Gunboat were holding a slight lead, with Brogue lying handy, and Hilarity close up. At the distance, Mayfowl had drawn clear of Gunboat, and then Brogue came up and challenged, and in a very fine finish the judge was unable to divide them. Three and ft-half lengths away Gunboat and Jlilarity dead-heated for»thwd place.,', Time, Snnn 3 2-sßec, . Will 1)11 l ; 11.11 N 1111. IWI" ' '
