LAW TO BE ALTERED REGARDING FINES. By Telegraph.— Press Association,— Copyright, MELBOURNE, sth February. Senator Pearce, Minister for Defence, says the Federal authorities had not foreseen that imprisonment could be inflicted under the State Act for the non-payment of fines in connection with the Commonwealth. Compulsory Trains ing Act, and tho matter had been referred to the Attorney-General.
