(Received February 5, 11.30 a.m.) BRISBANE, This Day. fnnisfail reports a record flood. There is 10ft of water on the esplanade. Chinatown is submerged to the roofs. The flood is due to the cyclone overflowing the river. ' The country is covered for miles, only the housetops and trees being visible. The stock losses are heavy. It is not known how the residents in the country fared, owing to there being no communication. The wharf almost collapsed, and a shed was broken in halves, Tons of driftwood, bananas, sugar cane, dead horses, cattle,* and pigs floated downstream. There have been no casualties yet. The water is receding, leaving a mass of debris oh the river front and streets. A subscription list has been opened by the Mayor of Brisbane.
