» SENTENCE OF FLOGGING QUASHED. By Telegraph.— Preeg Association.— Copyright. LONDON, 4th February. The Appeal Court has quashed the flogging to which Timothy Patrick Connor was sentenced for forcing his wife to lead an immoral life. The ground for upsetting the sentence was that the proceedings in ths case had been commenced before the White Slave Act, empowering the Court to order flogging*, had come into force. Tho sentence on Oonhor was increased from eighteen months to two year*.
