The Auckland Rugby Union has decided to drop the proposed triangular contest Auckland • Taranaki • Wellington, and invite those'provinces to play Auckland as follows: Wellington in July and Taranaki in Angust. Both will be Shield matches if Auckland then holds the trophy.
