GIRL TAKES POISON. ■ (bt teliqbaph— press assocutiow.) AUCKLAND, This Day. A girl, about 20 years of age, in male attire, was admitted to the hospital suffering from poisoning by perchloride of meTcury. Though her condition is serious, she will probably recover" in a few day*. The Salvation Army authorities state that early last evening a well-dressed youth" walked up to the Army Home at Parnell, and after ringing the doorbell was seen to swallow some tabloids from a phial. Suspicion was aroused, and the doctor and police were summoned. It then transpired that the visitor was, a girl masquerading. She admitted Having taken poison, stating that she I w* B tired jai life and wished to end it. one had been in service at Tonsony. The girl has been removed to the hospital.
