MAGISTRATE'S COURT

In the Magistrate's Court to-day, An* drew Williamson, for drunkenness, waa fined 40s, with the alternative of fourteen days' imprisonment; John Pryce was fined 40s, with the alternative of seven days' imprisonment. Hy. Jas. Wren was sent to gaol for a week for the theft of a vest value 6s 6d, the property of Alexander , Dimdore. • For obscene language, William Butchex was fined £3, with the alternative of fourteen days' imprisonment. Wm. Bashford, charged with the theft of a bridle, value 10s, the property of David Munn, at Te Aute, was Temanded to appear at Waipawa on Thursday. Patrick Coleman pleaded guilty to having been absent from the s.s. Turakina without leave, and, agreeing to go back to the ship at once, was ordered to pay Court costs, and was convicted and dieI charged. Mr. W. Light, J.P., dealt with several cases of drunkenness at the Mount Cook Police Court this morning. Herman Reich was mulcted in the sum of 40s, with the option of fourteen days' imprisonment. John Fleming and two firstoffenders were each fined 10s, the alternative being forty-eight hours' detention. J. Watson and one first-offender were convicted and discharged.
