NO-LICENSE LEAGUE
ANNUAL MEETING AT HUTT. The annual meeting of the Hutt NoLicense League was field at Petone last evening. The chair was occupied by Rev. H. Cottom, president. The secretary's and treasurer's reports were read and adopted, and satisfaction was «x» pressed with them. The election of offleers and committees resulted as fol« lows .'—President, Rev, J. J, Lewis; vice-presidents, Revs. J. M'Caw, B. H. Ginger, S. J. Garlick, Sykes, Cottom, and Wainwright, Captain Charker, Mesdames Falden and Rowse, senior, Messrs. J. W. M'Ewa'n, T. Waugh, <f. 3. Wood, W. J. Skinner, J. Gibbs, W. Alexander, H. Jansen, T. Townsend, and •W. \Hobbsj hon. secretary, Mr. w.J. Wakelin (re-elected) j assistant-secretary, Mi I . tG. Blakeley (re-elected); treasurer, Mr. H. Jansen. Conveners of committees : Harmony, Mr. A. >E. Wright j collecting, Mr. G. Blakeley. Executive committee { Mesdames Miller, Jansen, and Corner, Misses Carter and J. Knight, Messrs. F. Lockwood, G. Pickering, 0. T. Baigent, and J. Delahunty. The auditors, Rev. H. Cottom and Mr. J< W. M'Ewan, received a vote of thanks for their services. The following resolution, moved by Rev. J. J. Lewis,. was unanimously passed :— "That this meeting of members of the Hutt Electorate No-License League strongly protests against the proposal to rescind ths resolution passed by the Hutt Park Committee, prohibiting the sale of intoxicants within the park, and desires to thank the committee for the stand previously taken by them on this important matter." A resolution conveying the thanks of the meeting to past officers concluded the business.
