There are now' nearly one -hundred seaside cottages at this popular resort. A proposal is also afoot tc expedite the Harbour Board -taking over tlte wfiarf from the Railway Department and .deepening the'rivcr channel, though' a large body of opinion favours the construction of a wharf near the Heads, and linking up with the line of railway. The delivery of bulk good 3 by_ railway from Wellington is very unsatisfactory, and business people wini an assured 'sea route. ' ' A petition is to be circulated today, praying the; Borough Council to proceed with the ' electric tram scheme. It is j pretty certain that the scheme will' be nullified. Publics opinion favours 'buses.
