WILD SUFFRAGETTES
TOWER OF LONDON ENTERED ONE WOMAN ARRESTED PALACES CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC. By Telegraph.— Presi Association.— Copyrliht.. (Received February 3, ,10 a.m.) LONDON, 2nd February. A suffragette gained entrance to the Tower of London and smashed a case containing Orders of Merit. She was arrested. Kensington, Hampton Court, Kew, and Holyrood Palaces have been closed to the public. Suffragettes damaged the greens on four Birmingham golf links, cutting the words in the turf : "Votes for women," and pouring a corrosive fluid on the let* tering. Outrages in connection with pillarboxes are increasing, „ Mahy windows in Whitehall havebeen screened with wire. SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO GO HUNGRY. LOND"ON, 2nd February. Sir A. B. Markham. M.P., proposes legislation to prevent suffragettes from bringing the law into contempt and ridicule. He asks Mr. M'Kenna to discontinue forcible feeding and allow them to go hungry.
