The sum of £26,306 10s was put through the machine on, the second day of the Takapuna Jockey Club Meeting, making £50,901 10s for the two days, as compared with £41,30? for last year. The stipendiary stewards severely reprimanded O'Shea and R. E. Brown fot? their riding of Maty Ann and Pliobphorus in tho first race. The rider of The Chief in the Waiwera Hurdles (Ellern) was seriously injured, and suffered concussion of the brain. Remaining results:— Takapuna Handicap, of 300 eovs: one mile a-half. ~l Eleetrakoff, 8.1, 1 j 2 Tiresome, 6.11, 2«, 3 Jolie Fille, 8.5, 3. Also started— s Advocate, 4 Somolina, and 6 Ruatangata. Won by a short head, with Jolie Fille two and a'half lengths away third. Time, 2min 10 l-ssec. Hobson Handicap, of 120 boys ; four furlongs.— S Loloma, 7,0, 1(2 King Lupin, 7.0, 2$ 1 Lady Alicia, 9.10, 3. Aleo started— 4 Christine, and 6 Obdurate. Won easily by a length and aquarter, with Lady Alicia three lengths away third. Time, 55 2-ssec.
