FORECAST. At 9 a.m. to-day the following forecast was issued for the subsequent 24 hours :— Winds.— Southerly winds, moderate to strong generally, and strong to gale but decreasing southward of Oamaru and Puysepur Point, Barometer. — I'isc slowly everywhere. Sea. — Ifough on all the western const and in Cook Strait; considerable southwards of Castlepoiift; heavy in Foveaux Strait; moderate elsewhere. Tides. — High southwards of Castlepoint; moderate to good elsewhere. Warning signals for southerly gales are exhibited at Nugset Point and Centre Island.
