H. Trotter* who was 6hot by burglars in his bedroom at Fitzroy oh 7th January, has been committed for trial. Bail was refused. Mrs. Trotter, in her evidence at the inquest, declared both the burglars in the room appeared to be slim. One was taller than the other, and the voice of tha taller seemed a boyish voice breaking into manhood. Thompson's voice did not appear the same, as it was the gruff and low-toned . voice of a man. Thompson did not seem elim-built to her. The coat worn by the taller man was striped something Tike the one produced, and a felt hat produced was something like ihe one worn by the taller burglar. Nobody to her knowledge knew where her husband kept his money. She went at once to see Thompson on his arrest, but was unable to identify him. _ The evidence against Thompson consisted of a finger-print on the windowsill of a back window. An expert etated that the characteristics agreed with those of Thompson's fingers.
