The returns of police- business in the Invercargill district dealt with in 1912 show that the total number of cases reported was 713, against 697 in J011 ; convictions for drunkenness, 255, against 297 ; assault, 35, against 30 ; burglary, 39, against 12; sly grog-selling, 7, against 27; theft, 92, against li.
