Inge, Lady Margaret Professor of Divinity at Cambridge, succeeds Dr. Gregory as Dean of St. Paul's Cathedral. [The Rev. William Ralph Inge, D.D., has been Lady Margaret Professor of Divinity at Cambridge since 1907. Born at Crayke, Yorkshire, in 1860, th© eldest son of the late Rev. William Inge, D.D., provost of Worcester College, Oxford, lie was. educated at Eton, King's College (Cambridge), and had a distinguished scholastic career, being Bell scholar and Porson prizeman in 1880, Porson scholar in 1881, Craven scholar and Brown medallist in 1882, Senior Chancellor medallist in 1883, first-class in classics in iot>2 and 1883, and Hare prizeman in 1885. From 1884 to 1888 he was an assistant master at Eton, a fellow of King's College from 1886-88, a fellow and tutor of Hereford College, Oxford, from 1889 to 1904, select preacher at Oxford 1893-95, and 1903-05, and select preacher at Cambridge in 1901, 1906, and 1910, For a time he was, in turn, Bampton lecturer, examining chaplain to the Bishop of Lichfield, and Paddock lecturer, New York. From 1905 to 1907 he was vicar of All Saints', Ennismore-gardens, London. His publications include : "Society in Rome Under the Caesars," "Christian Mysticism," "Faith and Knowledge," etc. Dr. Gregory, Dean of St. Paul's since 1891, was born in 1819.]
