Hill moved a series of motions regarding the custody of th© Festival of Empire shield, to take effect in the event of the trophy being won by the Australasian team, to be sent as a recommendation to the Australasian committee. It was considered, however, that the moMons were premature, and consideration of the matter was deferred. On the motion of Mr. Keesing, it was resolved that strong exception be taken to the action of Lord Desborough's committee in striking the lawn tennis events off the programme, and that a letter to this effect ba sent to the Australasian committee. It was also decided to send a letter to Mr. T. M. Wilford, M.P., thanking him for the great assistance he rendered in the initial stages of the movement.
