SHOCKING ACCIDENT.

CONSIDERABLE LOSS OF LIFE. CARRIAGES TOPPLE OVER A BRIDGE. CAPETOWN, 23rd April. A shocking railway accident took place yesterday at Grahamstown, resulting in considerable loss of life and many casualties. Four carriages and the guard's van of a train that was crossing the Blaauwkrantz bridge toppled over into a chasm beneath, 250 ft deep. The engine remained on the rails. Altogether twenty persons were killed, tho bodies of the victims being dreadfully mangled. Twenty-one persons were injured.
