MIRAMAR AFFAIRS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,— The following letter was sent to Councillors Bowie, Muir, and M'Leod on 4th April, and is a complete and sufficient answer to the letter written by Councillor M'Leod to The Post on 21st April: — "The Town Clerk reports to me that you have informed him of your intention of being absent from the meeting of the Council called for Thursday next for the purpose of confirming the special order. In view of your opposition to the proposed confirmation, and in order to meet your wishes that the matter should be thoroughly considered, I propose on Thursday adjourning the date of confirmation and calling a public meeting to bo held in the district before any further steps are taken in the matter. Peeling sure that the above proposal will suit your wishes, I would now ask you to attend the meeting on Thursday next." — I am, etc., JOHN BRODIE, Mayor.
