SANCTUARY FOR DUCKS.

TIMARU, 22nd April. Sportsmen are agitated over the discovery that the Waehdyke lagoon, close to Timaru, was made a, sanctuary for ducks in 1906. This was not known here, and the lagoon has been shot over for the last five seasons. The Hon. D. Buddo, ac Minister, appealed to to cancel the regulation, replied, declining to do so. He advised sportsmen to station themselves outside the area and shoot birds on the wing as they come and go.
