HUTT VALLEY FIRE BRIGADES.
The annual Fire Brigade competitions for brigade., in xhe Hubfc Valley was held on the Hutt Receation Ground on Saturday afternoon. Six teams took part, including three from the Gear Company, two from Railway Workshops, and one from Lower Hutt. The contest was a very spirited one and resulted in a win for the Gear Company's No. 1 team (Firemen Smith, List, and Pollock), who were timed at 38 l-s&ec. This team, therefore, holds the Baldwin Cup for one year. Hutt (Captain Flinn and Firemen Collet* and Hobman) came second in 4flsec. The two-men coupling evenb was secured by Collett and Hobman (Hutt). During the- afternoon, tea was dispensed by Lower Hutt ladies.
